Speciality: Medical Physics
The contribution of medical physicists in medical services using ionizing radiation for medical purposes is indisputable, especially in nuclear medicine, Imaging and radiotherapy with high-energy irradiation equipment where dose accuracy to patients is a critical element in the success of cancer treatment.
The medical physicist has the regulatory mission to establish procedures and techniques that ensure the correct dose is delivered to the right place and to provide effective patient protection through the organization and execution of the necessary physical measurements, which include, among others, dosimetry related to devices, calculation of dose distribution, and quality control of irradiation and measurement equipment.
In this regard, the Master in Medical Physics offered aims primarily to bring candidates for positions as medical physicists in hospital settings with high-quality at international standards and adequate, in-depth practical and clinical training. This training allows these future medical physicists to master the principles of medical physics for research, to adapt to rapid technological developments, and to integrate them into hospital environments. This Master's program also opens the way for a specialized Doctorate for future graduates.
Our goal is to train medical physicists with expertise and mastery of techniques used in the field of Medical Physics, thus providing specialized medical services with skills in medical physics. The program of the professional Master we offer is carried out in close collaboration with the Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine, and Imaging services in hospitals and private clinics nationwide, as well as with nuclear research centers.
